Q: WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

 

A: Monies raised through the sale of Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness license plate helps fund mammography screening programs for uninsured and underinsured women throughout Indiana.  To date, IBCAT has granted over $885,000.00 to such programs.  For a complete list of programs funded, please click on the "Grants" tab.

 

HOW DO I OBTAIN MY BREAST CANCER AWARENESS LICENSE PLATE?

 

A: Beginning January 1, 2007, customers may purchase their Indiana Breast Cancer Awearness license plate directly from the BMV branch of your choice.  An authorization form from our organization is no longer needed.

 

Q: WHAT IS THE COST OF THE INDIANA BREAST CANCER AWARENESS TRUST (IBCAT) LICENSE PLATE?

 

A: The Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust receives $25* from the sale of each plate to support improved access to breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment for all Hoosiers. The Bureau of Motor Vehicles charges a $15 specialty plate fee (to be paid at the BMV) for each plate purchased. Therefore, the plate costs $40 annually in addition to the required registration fees, excise taxes, and applicable county and local taxes.

Q: WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE THE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS LICENSE PLATE?

 

A: All Indiana residents who own or lease passenger cars, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, and trucks weighing less than 11,000 pounds.

  

Q: IS AN AUTHORIZATION FORM NEEDED TO PURCHASE THE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS LICENSE PLATE?

 

A. No, beginning January 1, 2007 an authorization form is no longer needed.
